Last chance to enter Weymouth & Portland Housing annual
garden competition.
It is WPH tenants last chance to enter this years annual garden
competition. With a top prizes of £50 in each of the categories,
now is the chance to enter.
The closing date for entries is the 16th June, and gardens will be
judged on 6th July. The winners of each category will be
invited to an award ceremony to congratulate and thank them for
their hard work in improving their local area.
Chair of WPH tenants panel and one of this years judges, Kristina
Froshaug, said; "I would encourage anybody new to gardening to
enter the competition, together with young people, as good
gardeners are needed for the future."
Housing Manager at WPH, Christian Blackbeard, added; “Each year the
garden competition proves to be a great success, recognising the
efforts of residents of all ages in maintaining a pleasant
environment for them and others to enjoy."
Christian added how; "We have seen some spectacular gardens over
the years and some very novel ideas. There are some tremendous
examples of whole neighbourhoods coming together with really
stunning results, and we hope the enthusiastic community
spirit will continue to spread with even more entries into this
year’s competition!"
The different categories within the garden competition include:
Best large garden; Best small garden; Best window box/balcony; Best
patio / container; Best under 14s garden; And Tallest
sunflower.
