Weymouth & Portland Housing is a Registered Social
Landlord and not for profit organisation dedicated to the provision
of high quality, affordable housing and related services for local
people.
Our overall aim is to build thriving neighbourhoods where people
choose to live. We are proud of our track record and to be able to
say that the promises made to tenants at the time of the stock
transfer in March 2000 and detailed in the "Tenants' Guarantee"
have been met in full.
Following Housing Corporation approval, Weymouth & Portland
Housing joined the Synergy Housing Group on 1st
April 2006, having considered a detailed business case that
identified a number of financial and service benefits that will be
realised by current and future tenants.
Weymouth & Portland Housing is a member of the Synergy Housing Group
alongside Purbeck
Housing Trust and East Dorset
Housing Association. Synergy Housing Group is a Registered
Social Landlord (registered with the Housing Corporation) - a 'not
for profit' provider of affordable housing and is the largest
provider of social housing in Dorset. The organization owns and
manages over 9,000 affordable homes across Dorset and Hampshire.
SHG also develops new homes with a combination of private finance
and grant from the Housing Corporation.
Weymouth & Portland Housing is registered with the Housing
Corporation; a government agency that regulates, funds and monitors
the performance of registered social landlords.
